Ed Purgason was born and raised in Greensboro, NC, where he attended Page High School. He graduated from The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and received a master’s degree from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California. He served on Young Life staff, an Outreach Ministry to Young People from 1974 until 1987 – the last four years, serving in the East African Country of Uganda. He married the former Susan Nelle Edwards in 1986. They have 3 children, Katy, Will, and Mitchell. In 1991, he began a residential real estate career in Greensboro, NC, that continues to this very day. He remains active in his life’s passion for world and local missions.
